Level 1 Certified
I've been a Crossfitter and training people in Crossfit
for almost 3 years in Columbia, MO. While in Missouri
I received my certification form the National Strength
and Conditioning Association(NSCA) as a Certified Personal
Trainer on April 20th, 2007. I received my Crossfit
Level 1 Certification on March 8, 2009. I also received
local certifications in Back and Spine Rehabilitation,

Before Crossfit I competed in Powerlifting and Olympic
Lifting Competitions in high school and continued to
compete in Powerlifting in College
at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where I majored
in Psychology. I qualified for World's in the Drug Free
Powerlifting Federation in July of 2009. Also while
in College at Mizzou I played Rugby
for their Division II team for 2 1/2 years at the positions
of Prop, Lock, and Inside Center for their 7's team.
While playing for them I also acted as their Strength
Coach, and made them follow a Rugby Specific
Crossfit Program leading us to be number 3 in the Nation

Steve
Verlennich:
I
graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a BAS
in Exercise Science and a minor in psychology. I
am also a Certified Personal Trainer through the National
Strength and Conditioning association. My love of sports played
a huge role in my pursuit of a degree in exercise science.
Another factor was my personal journey through the exercise
and fitness world. I have lost a total of 80 pounds
by exploring different avenues of exercise. I started
by lifting weights in a "traditional" gym and progressed
to a more effective form of exercise known as "functional
training". The last 30 pounds I lost (the most
difficult to lose I might add) I will attribute fully to the
use of kettlebells. I have been using kettlebells
for 11 months and have seen the amazing results they can produce.
I was instructed on kettlebells by RKC Adam Dailey (Superior
Kettlebell Gym) of Duluth, Minnesota. The workouts
we did were a mix of kettlebell and CrossFit
type workouts that got me into the best shape of my life.
Although I received irreplaceable knowledge at UMD, my personal
experience with the effectiveness of different forms of exercise
is also extremely valuable. Now I like to find ways to work
so hard that it makes my head spin and heart beat nearly through
my chest.
Relish the challenge of overcoming difficulties
that would crush ordinary men. |
